Carrot Cake Mead Update

For those of you concerned about me using powder ginger and cinnamon, fear not. I went with cinnamon sticks and 2 ounces peeled ginger in secondary.

Recipe:

- 32 oz carrot juice

- 64 oz apple juice

- 36 oz honey

- lalvin ec - 1118 yeast

- day 1 nutrients

- day 2/5 nutrients

- 2 cinnamon sticks in secondary for 2/3 weeks

- 2 oz peeled ginger in secondary for 2/3 weeks

- 1 clove for 3 days in secondary

That new one is Cinnabomb 2.0, this time with Mikes Hot Honey in primary and also for backsweetening. Maybe this time I'll finally achieve fireball status

There was only room for the animated children's movies, but don't worry I got more shelves and more blu rays and dvds

My friends want me to sell them my mead but I only started this as a fun pasttime 🥲

Came over here from r/mead because they have rules about this kind of discussion and redirected me to this sub.

Over the course of my homebrew journey, I had successes and funky failures and learned what my strengths are. Obviously, I only brought the winners to parties and my friends have loved them every time. Lately, my friends have moved on from jokingly telling me to sell it and are now harassing the houseparty hosts about my timeline for mead production.

I don't want to become a business. I don't want to create a brand or make fancy labels or anything professional level like that. I just want to know what would be a reasonable asking price for a liter of mead so they can either shut up about it or put that cash in my hand. Obviously I would tell them the ingredients in it so no allergy mishaps occur, but like what would be my best approach here if I'm not trying to make a business.

Has anyone else been lowkey peer pressured into monetizing a hobby before?

Brilliant minds who lost their brilliant minds to their life's work

These brilliant minds pursued career goals they would come to regret. In the process of achieving their life's goal, they lost the brilliant minds that wanted that in the first place. This one gets me every time I can't help it 😭

Simon the Ice King, Adventure Time: Simon was an archeologist who fell in love with Betty, another academic with her own goals and dreams. When Simon first found the crown, he had no idea the legends around it could possibly impact him. Betty ran from him in a crown fueled manic episode, and then later the mushroom cloud would erupt. In the waste lands, Simon sparingly uses the crown to survive, eventually encountering a lonely vampire girl desperately in need of an adult. Over time, he goes from Simon the Archeologist to The Ice King.

Old Man McGucket, Gravity Falls: Fiddleford McGucket, an inventor called in for a job that needed his mechanical skills. After witnessing incomprehensible horrors, Fiddleford quit the job he moved across the country for. In an attempt to cure his PTSD, he invents a ray gun that wipes your memory of whatever unpleasant thing you want gone. At first, Fiddleford believed he had invented a perfect cure for all distressing memories. It would be too late that he would realize there are consequences for regularly using the mind wipe ray gun. Within a year, he went from Fiddleford McGucket to a town kook who couldn't remember anything about his past. He is teased by townsfolk and his own son refuses to acknowledge him. Even as a man who lost all his marbles, he could still build a mech suit like no other.

Kinger, The Amazing Digital Circus: A programmer for a company that wanted to invent Creative AI. His first functional creation, Caine, would later trap his entire development team inside The Digital Circus. Including his wife. Over the course of time, Kinger witnessed his entire programming team hit their breaking point and transform into abstract monsters. After witnessing his own wife hit her breaking point, Kinger had nothing to do but reflect. He had to make some mental concessions over the years to avoid hitting his own breaking point. For decades, he had nothing but his own memories to keep him occupied until Raggatha appeared. Now he can't function rationally unless enclosed in darkness but hey he's still himself ya know.
