Triple column writing pad layout in Aeralis World | Language of Air

At a glance: imagine yourself looking at a book you bought from a bookstore in any West, Middle or East Asian country. As much as most will not be able to read any of those books, no one will be able to read Aeralic either. This thought exercise is to draw the focus to the script design and the surface area efficiency.

The focus of the two uploaded images:

  1. The script in the first image is written with a triple column layout. Each column allows between 2-3 words per row at most, depending on each word size. Once the first column is read, the reader moves on to the 2nd and then to the 3rd column
  2. The script in the second image is written as per normal from left to right, and moves down the rows accordingly.

As in the English literary world, the foolscap writing pad has horizontal lines printed on them. East Asian writing pads have squares or vertical lines printed on their writing pads. Aeralis' writing pads will likely be triple column organised pads with tiny markers indicating where the upper registers and lower registers of each word is to be written.

Fully hand written.

Personal note: Sincere thank you to all who commented on my last post. My primary method of expressing thank you's is to tsunami a whole lot of explanation rather than stopping at "thank you!". It's a personal philosophy. In the course of many many words explaining my design concepts, I may misdeliver certain nuances which might lead to misinterpretations of arguments. So please excuse me if I verbal diarrhea, but above all else, my thank you's to commenters is the most important message.

Cheers!

Conscript proof of concept | Aeralic-Language of Air

Rather satisfied with the outcome : D) Originally started off as a linear script, and now each word is an individual cloud of varying sizes and orientations, while remaining visually discernible from the other.

Personal delight: the successful integration of rainbow motifs into my conscript. Letter G's are written as forward leaping rainbows while letter R's are backwards curling rainbows.

Fully hand written.
