I’m from the UK and have been on a number of hikes in the alps/dolomites and love it. I often feel bad for only speaking English on my travels and would love to learn a European language to practice whilst away.

I’m drawn between French or Italian. However wondered if Spanish would also be good for South America.

Would love to hear thoughts from bilingual hikers which language to focus on first.
