Help Me Choose My First Trekking Rucksack (₹2.5-3k Budget)

I'm (25M - 5'10" - kind of skinny-fat physique) planning to buy my first rucksack for upcoming treks (and trips as well, as I don't prefer carrying a huge trolley or multiple backpacks on trips), and also proper trekking travel needs a solid backpack. I'm kind of low on budget due to EMI and stuff, so my budget is around 2.5-3k INR max. After some heavy research I filtered 3 options...SIMOND MT100 50L (*not the easyfit one), Tripole Terra 50L, and Tripole Walker 55L. Now, I'm confused between these choices.

Please suggest the best among them, or any other recommendation is heartily accepted. Now, some honest points: for me, minimalism matters, and I need something compact so it becomes comfortable to carry.

So, my fellow trekkers, please provide your opinion/suggestion/recommendation/review on anything. Take love.

CTR RUB-50 vs Quechua NH150

Hey everyone,

I'm currently on a super tight budget but desperately need a new pair of hiking shoes that can handle a bit of everything (rocky paths, light mud, maybe some rain/slush). I’ve narrowed it down to two budget options: the CTR RUB-50 and the Quechua NH150.

Has anyone used both or can recommend which one holds up better across different scenarios? Comfort, grip, and durability are my main priorities since I can't afford to replace them anytime soon. Thanks in advance!

First-time solo trekking from Kolkata (25M). Need a budget-friendly, peaceful trail to clear my head.

I’m a 25M from Kolkata, an introvert, and I've never done a solo trip before. Some recent life incidents have left my mental health in a rough spot, and I really need to escape to the mountains for some quiet and peace of mind.

Here is a quick breakdown of my situation:

  • Fitness & Build: I’m on the skinnier side but fit and highly energetic. Physically and mentally, I can handle tough terrains, long walks, and unpredictable situations.
  • The Main Fear: Getting scammed. Because I’m a first-timer and an introvert, I'm a bit anxious about locals or agencies overcharging me or taking advantage of my lack of solo travel experience.
  • Budget: Looking for something budget-friendly.
  • Vibe: Peaceful, scenic, and not overly commercialized, but safe enough for a beginner solo traveler.

Since I am starting from Kolkata, I am ideally looking for something accessible via train/bus to the North Bengal/Sikkim region or Himachal/Uttarakhand (if the travel isn't overly complex for a first-timer).

My questions for you guys:

  1. What are some safe, budget-friendly, and peaceful trek recommendations for a first-time solo traveler?
  2. Are there specific routes where the local community is reliable, and the risk of getting scammed is minimal?
  3. Any tips for an introverted first-timer on how to avoid scams while booking stays/transports on the go?

Appreciate any advice, route maps, or personal experiences you can share. Thanks in advance.
