Animal shelters that are in *need* of volunteers to walk, train, socialize dogs?
I noticed the SPCA has a waitlist to volunteer with them. I am wondering if anyone knows of any shelters or rescues that have an actual need for a volunteer to help walk, train, and socialize dogs? Bonus if it doesn't need to be on a schedule or could be very low time commitment (like every other Saturday or something).
I am not in a place where I feel ready to commit to another dog at this point in my life, but I have been missing my pupper lately and browsing shelter listings (which is a dangerous game!) and I thought maybe I could fill the void by loving on the shelter doggos every so often :)
I am in the Mechanicville area and willing to travel up to 45 mins to surrounding counties if anyone is aware of any shelters that are short on volunteers! Thanks :)
