Primary school kids no limits on screen time...
Trying to determine whether this is a "my son's classmates" phenomenon or whether it's a widespread issue, but is it common to allow kids unlimited access to screen time, social media, online gaming here? For context, my son is in the fourth grade here, so his peers are 9-10 years old. We have strict time limits on his devices, and he has to earn extra time.
Further to this, we have a big playground near our flat, and there are a lot of younger kids (younger than 7ish) and teenagers, but the 8-12 demographic is sorely missing. When my son texts his friends, asking to play outside, ride their scooters, he's usually left on read. He says that all of his friends just stay home and play Roblox/Minecraft/whatever.
Is it just his peer group and their seemingly indifferent parents?
