Shoes for hiking. Are Salomon's worth the hype?
I'm DESPERATE for a pair of shoes I can wear hiking, walking & camping, but that could also pass as 'every day shoes'. I'm off to New Zealand in July where I'll be doing a lot of hikes and walks, but I also need some new shoes for work where I average around 15k steps per shift. Comfort is most important, but I'd really like it if I could wear the shoes with jorts or jeans too - so ideally no runners or anything too chunky! I've had my eyes on the Salomon XT-6's for a few months but keep second guessing myself as they are $300AUD. Are they really worth it? Has anyone tried the Asics Gel shoes? Eg. Gel-resolution 5's or Gel-venture 6's? I'm not overly concerned with price as I know I'll be wearing them essentially every day. I'm Australian if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance!
