Been using Tello WiFi calling at home in the states with no issues. Am currently in the UK and got a data-only eSIM that's got a strong connection; did lots of reading beforehand that said I could use "WiFi calling" and texting for Tello via the eSIM's data. But it's not working.

If I join an actual WiFi network, I get the "Tello WiFi calling" scrolling display and it works great. As soon as I drop back to mobile data from the second eSIM, Tello defaults to international roaming.

Settings/variables:

• Pixel phone running the latest version of Android
• one UK/Europe data-only eSIM (Airalo), selected for cellular data
• one Tello eSIM, selected for calling and texting
• Automatic data switching turned off (though I did also try turning it on, which didn't seem to have any effect)
• International roaming turned on in my Tello account; data roaming turned OFF in the Tello eSIM on my phone
• Yes I have an E911 address set up

These are the settings that other people have reported working in the same situation, so that's what I've tried.

I tried using Tello chat support and got an incredibly aggravating chatbot that repeatedly told me live chat was available 24/7 and then told me no live chat was available and to send an email. I have sent an email and am waiting to hear back, but I'm wondering if maybe someone else has run into this and solved it before and I'm just missing something obvious.

Tried reboots, airplane mode off/on, etc. I've seen a few mentions of "Backup calling" but that seems to be a long gone setting from older versions of Android. I have tried this with Automatic data switching turned both off and on, and didn't see any difference.

Edited to add: if I turn off international roaming in my account, my Tello sim shows "No service" even when I've got a data connection from the second sim. But as soon as I join an actual WiFi network it jumps to WiFi calling.
