Sander Berge

Sander Berge

Sander Berge was seriously linked with us at one point.

Either we were too cheap to pull the trigger, or he wanted to stay in the PL.

But if we gave up because of the money, that looks painful now.

Fulham will probably open the door at £40 to £50 million for Manu and other big clubs.

The fish that got away was a big one.

What would we do if another club talked about our players like this?

Imagine the president of a random European club, in the middle of their elections, saying publicly that they have an agreement with Guendouzi, Skriniar, Asensio, Kante... You get the idea.

As fans, how would we feel about that? What would our board do if someone disrespected us like this?

Most likely we would be pissed, and even if there was already an intention to sell those players, we probably would not want them sold to that club anymore.

To be clear, I honestly do not side with Aziz Yıldırım or Hakan Safi here. But what Hakan Safi is doing does not really make sense to me unless he is also in touch with the clubs involved.

Otherwise, why publicly name players like this and risk making the actual negotiations harder?
