Jerk - King of Kettlebell Exercises?

30 seconds on/off - 8 reps x22 - 176 reps total with 2x24kg

The fastest way to put two bells overhead is probably the jerk. Long jerk sets however take some getting used to. Fatigue management and local strength endurance takes a while to build up to.

Today's intervals are an easy format that bypasses the discomfort of long jerk sets. This is, I think, my first jerk session all year. Looked easy on paper, but still a good amount of volume meant I was tired in the end.

Double Half Snatch 2x20kg - 67 reps

5 minute set - 14,13,13,13,14 reps

I never practice this lift, lol - My timing was completely off for the first two reps. Acceleration pull was so-so throughout.

Denis Vasilev Speed Endurance Circuit

3 rounds of 30 jump squats, 30 push ups, 30 swings and 30 deadlifts. 24kg for me today, 15 minutes.

Vacation training. I obviously took the time to write a script, hold a production meeting where I planned out the location etc before starting..

Easing back into it after two weeks holiday

LC 2x20kg - 5' set, 5' rest x2

10,11,10,11,11 reps in the first set. Forgot everything here, my belt, the HR monitor and even forgot to move fast, lol

12,12,13,13,13 reps in the 2nd set was better 😅

Vacation Conditioning - Snatches and Swings

1-10 snatches each side with 20 swings between snatches.

24kg only, but clearly I haven't done much swings before. Got pumped biceps from the drop.

BW circuit of squats, lunges, push ups, pull ups and more snatches after this

Two weeks break from my regular GS training. Travelling with a single 24kg bell, running shoes, gymnastic rings and jump rope as my only equipment available.

Long Cycle 2x32kg - 6 minute set

(Last rep was very ugly, sorry about that.. The rest felt good though)

Accessory Work for Long Cycle

Long Cycle as an exercise is a continuous cycle of clean and jerks. This set is the opposite! First three minutes of jerks, followed by four minutes of cleans. No rest between exercises.

Easy weight, 2x24kg - 36 jerks and 54 cleans (12,12,12/13,13,13,15)

Also, since I'm getting both reported and DMs about my clothes on most of my posts here. High rep cleans and snatches in loose leg wear chafes the insides of my thighs. So, I'm wearing this - deal with it 😀

The Ultimate Answer - 42 reps!

Nothing special about this set, just a fun number. I'm also 42 in 5-6 months, so don't believe the fit over 30 / 40 hype. You can still work plenty hard and exercise daily even in middle age 😀

8,8,8,9,9 reps - 42 total with 2x28kg

This was after a good volume of deadlifts in the same session. 150 reps under 2x24kg the day before.

Very happy with my technique in this set. Strong and upright posture. Gradually got deeper in my 2nd dip, especially in the last minute.

Snatch Again - 32kg, 54 reps

Three sets of 3 minutes with 2 minutes rest
50/50/54 reps - last set in video

Not too pleased with these tbh. Catching the bell a little early on the drop here and as a result the bell drops a little low. Trying to be more patient and upright in my next session

Loud video warning, lots of breathing going on.

Long Cycle Practice and Muscle Ups

Long Cycle 2x32kg - 6,7 reps
3' rest
Long Cycle 2x28kg - 9,9,10 reps

Rest of the session included front squats, split squats, rows, push ups and also made muscle ups. Haven't tried to do those for several years, but I still can do them - good stuff!

It's probably a WTH effect of doing pull ups to stomach height and practicing +30kg pull ups, but I don't know..

10,10,10,10,10,10,10,11,12,14 - 107 total

Easy week, easy set - First 10' in a while. A couple of years ago I put up my PB of 111reps on this lift. All out effort at the time, deload today.

Consistency works
