PSA: Wimbledon has an online resale that they barely advertise

PSA: Wimbledon has an online resale that they barely advertise

Every year people assume that if you missed the ballot, it's queue or nothing. There's an official online resale most people never find, because Wimbledon doesn't really promote it.

How it works:

  • Ballot-holders who can't attend return their tickets, and the AELTC re-releases them at face value (ticketsale.wimbledon.com).
  • It runs for months before the tournament (starts in March) and every day during it.
  • Why there's so much supply: Wimbledon gives a full refund if you return a ticket at least 24h before the day of play - so people hand them back rather than waste them, and those seats reappear in the shop.
  • Catch: you only see the shop if you entered the public ballot and log in with that myWimbledon account.
  • The good ones vanish in minutes, sometimes under a minute.

Full disclosure: we run an alert service that watches the resale portal (Alertix). But everything above works manually too. It's just more difficult as the drops are at completely random times.
