What do you consider the most iconic Malifaux landmarks or terrain pieces?

Hi everyone!

I'm a fairly new Malifaux player and I've recently started working on terrain for my gaming table. I'd love to create some pieces that are instantly recognizable as being from Malifaux rather than just generic Victorian, Western, or horror scenery.

As someone still new to the setting, I'm curious: what landmarks, locations, structures, or other objects do you consider truly iconic to Malifaux?

A few examples that came to my mind are the Breach itself, the Iron Ram, Kitera, soulstone mines, or the elevated transport pylons with aeromobiles.

What other places or objects from the lore would make you immediately think "Yep, that's definitely Malifaux" if you saw them on a tabletop?

I'd love to hear your ideas and suggestions!

Question about Stealth Boy against Area trait

Hello there 👋

Again the rules question 😄

Playing against model with Stealth Boy and opponent used weapon with Area trait.

Stealth Boy says model cannot be targeted by ranged attack unless attacker is within Perception range. Area weapon targets a point not a model, but then says all models within range "count as target model".

We couldn't agree if Stealth Boy protects here or not. How would you play this?

Rules question: what happens to a Captive when the crew holding them gets Annihilated?

So our campaign hit its first annihilation game last night and the losing crew happened to be holding one of my captive. Their roster gets wiped but what happens to my guy?

The only rule I can find is the Absent Crews sidebar on pg. 61, which says:

>"If your crew member is the Captive of a crew that no longer exists (either because they have retired or their player has left the campaign), clear the Absent box on your Crew Roster."

An annihilated crew roster is removed from the campaign, so by that rule my unit should go free. But the rule only specifically mentions retirement and a player leaving but not annihilation. And since the player is still in the campaign with a new crew, the situation isn't quite the same.

The annihilation section itself has nothing about pre-existing captives held by the losing crew, and I couldn't find anything in the errata either.

Has anyone run into this? We house-ruled it as freed (felt right narratively), but curious if there's a ruling I missed.
