Vintage Ultra v2 high pitched noise
When the XLR out is in use there is a constant high pitched noise from 2k-10k that I can’t figure out how to get rid of.
I and 2 other people have tried troubleshooting everything we possibly could to try and get rid of or even lessen the noise but to no avail. It’s not power supply, ground loop, cab sim, or pre amp and other things. Multimeter reads perfect readings.
Trust me, we’ve tried literally everything.
When using the 1/4” output and not the XLR output the sound is practically unnoticeable.
There’s and eq visualization above. There is no signal passing through and my bass is completely muted (happens even completely unplugged). The sound happens regardless of whether the pedal, cab sim or ground lift is engaged/disengaged. When compared to a Livewire DI the noise goes away, so it’s been isolated to the DI specifically.
I’m a full time musician and this pedal sounds too good to part ways with and it’s out of my price range to buy another one. I would love to use it as a DI because the sim I have on is everything I want from my tone, but if it doesn’t get figured out, I don’t really have a choice but to demote it to just an EQ/distortion pedal :(
Anyone have the same issue or any ideas to troubleshoot that we haven’t already done?
