Looking for a temporary solution to play music with decent quality in my 2013 Highlander while I save for a new head unit

Hello all! I recently purchased a 2013 Highlander Limited for myself as my daily. She has the JBL with nav package. I commute 16 miles (about 40 min with traffic each way) plus I have a 3 year old that I like to keep busy so I’m in the car a lot. Obviously this car is older so a couple of things here and there don’t work. But the biggest bummer is the head unit. Certain areas of the screen seem to not work and no matter how hard I try I cannot connect my phone via Bluetooth to it. I’ve tried all the hard resets with no luck. I will be getting a new battery soon, just waiting for the one I have to die.

Anyways, right now I’m rolling with one of those radio Bluetooth receivers that plugs into the cigarette lighter thingy and I hate it so much. It’s so finicky and the sound quality is truly so awful no matter which station I use. I just don’t have hundreds of dollars to shell out right now to switch the head unit out for something better, but I will be saving for one. In the meantime, I’m looking for other solutions. I have tried plugging my phone into the usb port and nothing really happened. Please drop ideas or links below! Thank you!
