Trumpet shops

I'm a bassist, who really only plays classical bass at a very band heavy school. However, I keep getting asked to play in jazz ensembles even though I only practice classical, and I'm not very good at jazz. I've always like the sound of trumpets in jazz, so I figured if I start learning it and join a beginner combo, I'll stop getting asked to play jazz bass (or maybe i'll actually like it after learning trumpet).

I was wondering if there's a shop that sells used beginner instruments? Maybe in the like 200-400 price range? Thank you guys so much!

4/4 sized basses

Okay, I've been a college bassist for some time now. I've done my fair share of going to see professional orchestras, going to master classes with professional bassists, and my professors collection of very old basses. And somehow, I have never seen a 4/4th sized bass. The biggest one I've seen has been a slightly large 7/8.

I know they're real, but how many people are actually playing them? Are they still being made? And if they are, is it really just the top professionals playing them? What's up with this?

beethoven 6 mvmt. 4

I genuinely have no idea how I'm supposed to bow this fast. The notes I can do, it's entirely just right hand issues. Has anyone had troubles with this before? And if so, what got you through it other than an overload of caffeine? It's for my orchestra audition, however at this point I'm just trying not to get judged by my professor.

p.s. all i've been doing is practicing with a swing bowing. i'm just completely hit a block with how much that's been improving my tempo
