Searching for my unicorn skis
Do you know where I could find a *new, unmounted pair* of Atomic Backland 98W or Backland 100 in 164cm?
They are my all-time favorite touring ski and I meant to buy a backup pair before they were discontinued (in 2024 or so?), but I didn't. I am in Seattle, but hoping to spread my search countrywide!
-I am not looking for the new, redesigned Backland 101s. Not the old or new 107s or 109s or 102s or 95s or any other Atomic ski. (However, men's 100 @ 164cm and the women's 98W @ 164cm were, I believe, identical. So either works.)
-I am only looking for new and unmounted. I have scored a pair of once-mounted 98Ws as a backup, but prefer new. Yes, I've searched online, to no avail. I'm hoping that someone here works in an indie shop with a shrinkwrapped pair in a dusty corner! I can clear them out for ya!
I know that once my current pair kicks the bucket I could find a new pair to love, but they've been my ride or die for like 5 years and I just love 'em. Light enough for volcanoes and multidays, but so fun to ski. Photo of the ski rack at Mount Adams last weekend...they're a popular ski in our crew!
