22 and lost

Hi all, in 2 weeks I turn 22 and feel very lost. I have just spent 3 years doing a social science course in college because I failed high school due to childhood issues and now I’m realising I don’t think I can really do much with this course and the things that I could do I’m not very interested in.

When I was 17 my grandpa had me help out at his business in hopes I would do an apprenticeship with him as he was an electrician but, at the time I was in a rebellious phase and completely ignored the opportunity he was trying to give me.

Now at almost 22 I feel like a complete failure to my family. I live with my aging grandparents, who at the moment don’t have much money and neither do I as I was relying on my bursary from college to get by. I have tried to apply to countless jobs but I either don’t hear back or get rejected, which is making my mental health worse because I feel like I can’t do anything to help my family or my own situation.

I’ve been thinking about maybe doing an access to engineering course at college, to try get an apprenticeship as an electrician, something I should have just done when I originally had the opportunity, but again my family keep trying to push me into finding a job to help them out, and as previously mentioned I haven’t been able to find anything anyway. I think I should go for this access to engineering course while I’m young and have time but I don’t know. Let me know if you have any advice

Also sorry if this was a mess to read I’m not great at writing.
