she’s genuinely SO RUDE (and a rant about vlogging as a whole)
the first 3 pics are a comment thread from her video addressing me. i didn’t blur anyone bc they commented publicly.
andrea was being SO RESPECTFUL and sarah didn’t even acknowledge her until someone else agreed with her!!! the last comment from kiara got her sooo much backlash from others, and not once has sarah stepped in to defend her or other people getting bullied *in her comment section.* starts this video by saying how this has been emotionally taxing for *her* and how the bullying has affected *her,* yet she seemingly has no desire to defend anyone in her comments from getting bullied that have the SLIGHTEST difference of opinion from her. she spent 6 minutes trying to convince us how amazing she is when she’s supposed to be taking accountability for filming an elderly woman in the bathroom and/or in blatant distress. idc how often she goes to church or shows her kids hugging her, anyone that sets up a tripod in someone else’s room/bathroom for a few clicks is a TERRIBLE PERSON!! i really dislike all vlogging content that involves other ppl bc there’s almost always something *off* happening irl that we don’t get to see, even if it *looks like* they filmed their entire day. i mean, technically they filmed a LOT of their day, but we only get to see the bits and pieces they thought looked good enough to include in the video. and remember, it took them a few minutes or more to set up each shot and every angle! they may have even needed to redo certain parts until they got it right. think of vlogging as an internet “craft” of sorts (and i use “craft” VERY loosely here).
brooke houts, ruby franke, and myka stauffer all tried presenting their families and lives as picture perfect, but what did we later discover?
brooke was abusing her dog off camera, and we only found out bc she accidentally uploaded footage of it.
ruby deserves NO EXPLANATION. we’ve all seen her vlogs vs the documentaries and heard sherri/chads testimonies about what went down off camera (and what was edited out).
myka literally sought out an autistic child from china just to turn around and put him back up for adoption after monetizing their “journey” and was treating him drastically different from her biological children. she quite literally abandoned him bc she couldn’t handle what DOCTORS WARNED HER ABOUT (and tried to convince her NOT TO ADOPT for this reason!!)
hell, david dobrik even got cancelled for his vlogs bc his friends got physically hurt!!! i know there was a lot of other stuff involved too, but it’s been so long i don’t remember exactly what. then there’s the ACE family, amberlynn reid (we figured out she’s abusive amongst MANY other things) and the list goes on with all the different types of vloggers out there.
with all that being said… we only see what vloggers want us to see!!! it’s all performative! the content itself (cooking, cleaning, shopping, whatever) benefits NO ONE except who is holding the camera and uploading to their profile. thats why they always have to document every milestone, family event, personal struggle, friendship, breakup/divorce, vacation, haul, etc. etc. etc. that’s why their houses are immaculate and they’re always wearing name brand to look good, bc their home is a set for their videos. it’s why they always have to humble brag about their new car or whatever else! they’re compensating for their lack of talent or personality, so they have to show off the other people in their lives or the material things they’ve acquired to feel important. they don’t care if other people don’t want to be involved or if they’re in the condition to do so, they just want that precious clout and the admiration that comes with it.
sarah utilizing this form of content to “educate” us on dementia with her husbands grandmother is disgusting. she films herself complaining about literally everything she has signed up for, has shown baba in her worst and most vulnerable moments (and the children!!!!), and the best she can do is delete it all and pretend like it didn’t happen and that she did nothing wrong. there is nothing educational about showing her busting a full diaper in the bathroom, having a man intimidate her to get undressed, or showing her SOBBING in the shower floor bc she’s on her knees with a scrawny little rubber mat for cushion instead of having a proper shower chair!! it all feels like she’s lowkey trying to humiliate this poor woman all bc she’s stressed out from having to “deal with it.” it breaks my heart so much to think that baba has to suffer through it all, and the only thing sarah cares about is how people view/feel about her.
i’m not saying all vloggers are bad, but definitely don’t mindlessly consume that content and pretend it’s just pixels on a screen for entertainment. those are real people with real lives, and the person holding the camera doesn’t always respect that. they think they’re just documenting what *their* life is like, but it’s at the expense of others involved. they’ll push boundaries with the people in their videos to see what they can get away with, and then we don’t find out about it until it’s too late.
