Any advice for Gen Chem Lab I?

I'm pre-med, so I'm planning to take Maeyer's chem lab this fall. I hear it's going to be the absolute bane of my existence, so any advice/notes would be extremely helpful please! I'm also planning to concurrently take Chem 1011 (Intro to Chem) under Porello who gets mixed reviews, so tips for that course would be very helpful to me as well! Thanks!

Which Language Should I Take?

I'm looking to start a language from scratch that's an easier A to get, so I can focus more on my STEM classes. I was originally planning to take a Scandinavian language since I'm most confident in them, but it looks like they stopped offering Swedish this semester. I hear good things about Polish and ASL at Penn for GPA boosters, but I'm concerned about starting either since Polish seems very hard to learn without any background, and ASL is obviously spoken with your hands which I'm not at all used to (but I'm definitely open to taking them). Any advice would be greatly appreciated as to which language courses seem to be easiest to succeed in to fulfill my requirements at CAS!

Which Language Should I Take?

I'm trying to decide what language course I might want to sign up for when I start signing up for classes... I took a bit of French in high school, so I'm pretty sure I could skip one or two of the four CAS required language classes, but I've been interested in learning other languages I was never given the opportunity to learn within my high school courseload like ASL or Chinese. Is it worth it to switch languages and try something new, or would most recommend to try and get the language requirement out as soon as possible with French which I'm already okay in? I'm mostly worried about certain languages' workloads being heavier, teachers being stricter, or curves being messed with if others who are already fluent in the language take the course with me to get an easy A.

P.S. An easier language course for my first semester would be optimal to get settled in and focus more so on my STEM courses! Please let me know if you have any insights for me!
