I recently made a post asking for long-term opinions on the Starcaster, and I decided to pull the trigger on a white one. I was hoping to get one with a lighter-coloured maple neck, and thankfully I did.

I'm planning to change all of the black hardware to chrome, as I'm not really a fan of the black look. Has anyone here with a white Starcaster done the same? If so, I'd love to see some photos of the finished result.

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a Starcaster, but I won't have the chance to try one beforehand.

I already have the Strat, and I absolutely love it. I'll never sell it. That said, I do think it's a bit limited in terms of what it can do, even though it's a really cool guitar to own.

For those of you who've owned a Starcaster long-term, what are your thoughts after the honeymoon phase? Did the novelty wear off, or do you still find yourself reaching for it regularly?

Also, if you take the Tom association out of the equation, is it still a genuinely great guitar in its own right? I really want one, but I don't want to buy it just because I'm a Tom fan if it doesn't hold up on its own merits.

I've also always wanted a semi-hollow, but I could never justify spending Gibson ES-335 money when I already own a Gibson Les Paul Standard and a Les Paul Custom. So the Starcaster seems like it could scratch that itch.
