NWD! Club Campus All Olive 36mm
Been wanting a Nomos for a while but I don't like my watch to sit to close to the end of my wrists with long lugs. Once I found out about how Nomos for 2026 brought down the size of the lugs of the Club Campus 36mm it made me very happy to see if ownership was a possibility. I was so stuck on color as I wanted to do the Night Sky (blue). But, something just really caught my attention with this olive color. Matched me well and was a nice offset to the denim that I consistently wear. I tried on the 38mm and it fit great. But I wanted more classic in sizing so I went for the 36mm and was not disappointed. Its slim and sleek but made for everyday wear with great water resistance. I love how the band also doesn't seem to gain smell which is really nice as with leather straps. I noticed anything I did (especially cycling) would make my watch straps smell over time if it wasn't a rubber strap. Since all my mechanical watches have been automatics I am new to the manual wind but spending time with my watch daily or every two days to wind just feels great and keeps me connected.
I learned the hard way that my 6.75" wrist even though very flat and a great platform for watches case sizing up to 42mm would work. But my thing was the dials always looked too large and I don't like it when a watch looks doesn't look in proportion to the wearer. I grew up with my first nice watch being a 39mm Movado which I always loved something thin. But I grew an affinity for divers because of the water resistance and it just made more sense with my active lifestyle. After getting a Panerai Luminor Due in 42mm I fell in love with having a sub-seconds feature. To me it adds something special with a nice dress watch. My thing with the Luminor is the symmetry was thrown off by the crown guard and the date feature which I enjoy but I don't really need. So I sold it.
Pretty much afforded me a great Tudor Black Bay 54 and Nomos Club Campus. Which keep way better time. Bring a lot of variety and fun. I still have a few watches given to me as gifts but these were something that made my upcoming 40th very very special!
