I know the Mamiya 645 af isn't made for digital backs,

However as far as I can see the only problem lies in communication between body and back.

Is it possible to use a digital back in bumb mode completely without any attempt at communicating with the body with a flash sync cable?

I see videos of people using digital backs on 3d printed bodies, so this should technically work, right?

Has anybody done something like this before?
