Just received the new Make Noise / Soundhack Plexiphon, and had a blast discovering it and figuring out how it works.
I’m pretty much blown away by the sound quality and the seamless transitions between the different characters of this module.

What’s going on here:
Metropolix sequences a lightly FM’d Doepfer VCO → A-121S → J&OT Door → Plexiphon. Random/looped gates from glōc go into SEND, with a few clocked random modulations around the patch and Plexiphon CV Out feeding back into Plexus.
Just a sparse MI Plaits kick underneath. 🪐

A little hypnotic techno, glitches and granular textures.
Still getting familiar with this wonderful module, but really enjoying it. I love how expressive and hands-on it feels to play with recorded gestures and transform them.

I recently got really into Frank Bretschneider’s work, especially EXP, and it definitely inspired the direction of this jam — obviously without pretending to do what he does.

I built the patch around a new instrument for me, the Neutral Labs Scrooge, using its gritty analog character as the main textural backbone and letting the rest of the system develop around it.

Scrooge goes into Bastl FX Wizard, with internal modulation + Maths creating morphing effects, glitches, crackles and squelches.

On the more tonal side, Plaits provides an FM voice sequenced by Metropolix with a 5-step pattern in D Dorian and a few ACCUM steps.
Its gates articulate Jasmine & Olive Trees Rubin in Looped mode, while a Doepfer Quad Random CV modulates several Rubin parameters as well as the wet/dry amount of Sealegs. This lets individual notes shift between short filtered impacts and longer, more floating textures.

Grids, modulated by Planar, clocks both Metropolix and a Battering Ram kick, with Drive / Decay / Click modulation from Gliss 1U.

I really liked the contrast between the cleaner FM tones and the analog imperfections, crackles and squelches of Scrooge — hope you’ll enjoy it too!

A patch built around syncopated rhythms, choking and subtle harmonic movement, exploring what happens in between the beats.

An analog FM voice for Doepfer VCOs processed by Doppler, driven by Grids and Traffic.

Kompas sequences Battering Ram, while Arbhar and Multigrain occasionally add unexpected textures.

Modulation from Gliss, Planar and Maths, with Desmodus Versio adding the crazy tails.

Hi everyone,
In this jam, I’m exploring Arbhar as a source of sonic textures, along with Door, the new alternate firmware for Jasmine & Olive Trees Doppler.

Arbhar is rhythmically sculpted by Door and sequenced by glōc and Traffic.
The result then goes through Desmodus Versio, while Battering Ram provides the kick and ducks the textures through X-PAN.

I’m occasionally scanning through the layers and changing them to evolve the textures.
It’s pretty abstract (as usual 😅), but I hope you enjoy the trip! 🪐

I recently received an Instruō Arbhar and I’m honestly blown away by it.

For this jam I sampled a collection of Plaits sounds into Arbhar and used it as the main voice of a minimal IDM patch.
I really like how musical it feels.

Quick first jam with the new Doppler module from Jasmine & Olive Trees.

Feeding it with a sine wave and white noise, sequenced by MI Grids into Traffic, with some ratchets from 2hp Slice and reverb from Desmodus Versio.

I’m really enjoying how easily it turns very basic source material into organic and dynamic percussion!

Anyone else here experimenting with this module yet?

The Modern Sounds Pluto is playing a slow evolving dorian sequence, then goes into Beads for a touch of granular texture.

Plaits provides a glitchy beat sequenced by Bastl Kompas, then runs through FX Wizard before going into Desmodus Versio.

Doepfer Quad VC Random acts like a macro control, opening up more modulation on the FX, reverb and decay across the patch.

Plaits into Beads: Digital Chaos

I wanted to try Plaits into Beads as a glitchy take on the classic Rings into Clouds pairing.

Plaits is pushed through different models with the Turing Machine, then fragmented by Beads. Battering Ram holds the rhythmic backbone, with Dual Dagger adding stereo movement.

An experimental jam built from a fragment of musique concrète, reshaped through Fieldtone Weaver.

Crust provides the beat, sequenced by Bastl Kompas, with Beads adding glitchy movement and broken textures.

The Weaver voice goes into Desmodus Versio, and Crust’s ENV OUT is inverted and offset through Maths, then sent to XPAN to duck it.

Not exactly easy listening, but I liked the glitched-out beat against the textural sample.

Making live IDM sometimes feels like walking through a maze: you can get lost, but need to find one possible path.

This one is built around a Ciat-lonbarde Tetrax sample recorded into the Sebsongs Sampler and sent through Beads, with Battering Ram and Perkons Voice shaping the rhythmic frame around it.

Somewhere between confusion and fluidity.

Built around a MTM Turing Machine sequencing a Doepfer A-110-1, while a Doepfer A-110-4 FMs it.

The envelope comes from Make Noise Maths, and DXG, modulated by Shakmat Harlequin’s Context.

I manually play with the LFreq / TZ control on the A-110-4 and with the Turing Machine to lock or reshape the sequence.

The beat comes from a Roland TR-06, with manual changes on global probability and comb filter. The TR-06 runs through FX Wizard while the Doepfer FM voice goes into Desmodus Versio.
