the job market is genuinely so horrible that I'm across the country away from my home, my family, my support just so I can have a job. and its genuinely really sad. I genuinely can't find any job back at home because these companies are so oversaturated with tons of other GenZ applicants or always want someone with 5+ YOE.
its really sad that the job market has become this difficult and impossible for GenZ that we have to choose between having a decent career or being with our family. I genuinely really miss my family and want to work close to them, but interviewers literally do not care because they would rather have someone more expensive or more senior. sometimes i wish i could just quit my job and see my parents again but I'm drowning in student debt (another thing GenZ got screwed over). this horrible reality has honestly made post-grad life really feel bleak.
I’m currently working with a big Aerospace company and most of my background is in Aerospace, but I’m really interested in specifically Additive Manufacturing. I’ve asked within the company if there’s any free AM work to do but because of how slow things move I haven’t gotten much luck besides to take some online courses. I’ve taken online classes and have LPBF experience with my college but what really interests me is DfAM and working with different types of printers, studying deformations, etc.
Does anyone have recommendations or know some solid companies I should apply to? I’m targeting the east coast area of USA since my family is from there, I appreciate any help
