Helped create an in-depth Bible reference tool using Obsidian

A good real-world example of large-scale interlinking, I wanted to share our finished product: thehyperlinkedbible.com

The scale:

  • 500,000+ cross-references
  • 3,176 intertextuality pairs (each place one text quotes/alludes to another)
  • ~1,778 chiasms (mirror-structured passages)
  • ~188 “trajectory tables,” 77 “anchor-text networks,” 19 longitudinal themes

What’s interesting from a linking standpoint:

  • Every connection is typed, not just a flat backlink — quotation vs. allusion vs. echo, color-coded inline (red/blue/green).
  • There’s a graph view with typed connectors and a legend filter that reshapes the graph live — basically Obsidian’s graph, but with edge types you can toggle.
  • It layers multiple “views” of the same node (plain text, cross-refs, source language, etc.), which is a clean take on transclusion/multiple panes over one source.

Also has light/dark mode 😄
