Workout ideas with a pull kick board

I used to swim in my school team years ago and I am now going back to it after a 10 year break.

The last few months I would just swim for 45 minutes. Mostly breast stroke (which is what kid me used to do in competitions because my trainer decided I was best at that) and occasionally front crawl. Since this is getting boring I got myself a pullkick board.

What are good drills to swim with them (suitable for someone who is not really a pro)? I wanna improve technique but also strength especially in my arms...

Managing Prediabetes while being underweight

My family has a history of type-2 on one side so I recently had my blood checked and my HbA1C was elevated at around 5.7

I am a slim 25 year old with a vegetarian diet. I cook most of my meals and don't have a big sweet tooth. I mostly drink tea and water anyways. So my doctor was surprised but recommended I look what I can improve in my diet anyways.

I tried to up the fiber and protein in my meals by switching to whole grain or high fiber options, added more tofu/beans/lentils to my diet and stopped most of my snacking in between meals. I also take iron supplements because my doctor suspected my low ferritin might also have influenced HbA1C...

Now for my main issue: the recommended diet and online recipes for (pre)diabetes is not very high calorie and I get full quickly because of the fiber/protein in the meals. That makes sense since a lot of patients have to lose fat but for me this was never the case.

I have lost 4kg in the last months and it keeps going. My BMI is now underweight.

I am discouraged because I feel like I can choose between having diabetes and being underweight. Anyone have similar issues? I find it hard to even stop loosing weight let alone gain some...

TLDR: How to gain weight on a prediabetes friendly vegetarian diet?
