New to taking Ozempic due to severe sleep apnea, being overweight, & high BP…I got questions!

Recently diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea with a AHI score of 35.5. Struggling with being overweight, extreme fatigue, high BP, PCOS + endo, insulin resistance, & even prescribed with weight loss meds- I could not lose any weight for the life of me- not even a pound.

I tried eating right and excercising..I triedwalking, HIIT workouts, weight training etc. NOTHING WORKED!

With that sleep apnea diagnosis made a whole lot of sense to my primary care doc and myself that was the reason the entire time. I am sleeping with my CPAP machine every nite to help with that now!

We agreed on Ozempic (also this was my very last choice as I hate needles, I faint at getting blood taken out and had bad trauma when I was 12 yrs old. Ive always been terrified of them.)

——-

Here are my questions especially since I was not informed by my doctor or pharmacist: *ALSO, Im waiting till Friday to take it so I can battle any symptoms that can occur over the weekend*

  1. Based on my research, each week that you inject it in yourself. Is it true to not always do the same location?

So one week will be the belly, one wk on the upper arm, the other upper arm, left thigh, right thigh…etc.

  1. Should I refridgerate my pen the entire time? Ive seen and heard people saying its just for the first dose of the pen.

  2. According to the label directions on my box… I feel dumb for asking this and from what Ive seen the pen only holds 4 doses (1dose every wk) soo Im instructed to take 0.25 the first 4 wks but when it says 0.5 every 7 days..Im confused at that part?

My doctor said before the last wk my of last dose to
message her how I feel and then if I am fine then she will up the dosage..sooo is that refferring to when I pick up my next pen?

  1. Any foods you guys sugguest I super stay away from when being on ozempic?

Sorry if its a bit long just nervous, confused, scared and a little hopeful 😭🫠

My Air results- night 2. Need a lil more clarification here.

Hello all :] This is my 2nd night with my new CPAP machine (Airsense 11) and I am still very foreign to the sleep apnea world. My AHI score was a 35.5 which put in the category of severe obstructive Apnea. They have given me the Resmed Airfit N30 nasal mask.

I know these results esp my sleeping time isnt ideal but this better than how long I was actually sleeping before which was 4hrs- so baby steps!

But I have a question regarding the mask on/off (half of those times it was because I was woken up by my cat so I had to kick him out to my sister room lol.

But this is the 2nd night I gotten 0/5 and I do feel like my mask fits me okay when I am laying on my back…because if I put it any tighter my face cheeks are gnna hurt (well not really but u guys get what I am saying.) The only other time i know its not “fitting properly” is when I sleep on my side and yes I sleep on both sides and back throughout the night.

Could there be any other issues I should look out for???

Also I will already am planning to talk to my doctor about switch to a face mask as I am a mouth breather, I sleep in multiple positions.

I will planning to buy a SD card to get the better in depth results with OSCAR that was sugguested to me from this forum.

First nite w/ Airsense 11 & Airfit N30 mask and boy do I have questions!

I recently have been diagnosed with Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea. I am 38 yr old woman with AHI of 35.5. They had given me a Airsense 11 Cpap machine with a Airfit N30 nasal mask.

Yesterday nite was my first time sleeping with it and I had such a hard time sleeping with it. Here are my issues:

1.My left ear got plugged during the night and I still feel it plugged up a little and at the same time my left nostril got stuffy as well to where I felt like I couldn’t breathe the air that the machine was producing…what could be the issue with that?Is it the pressure or humidity that needs to be adjusted?I heard people sugguesting nasal saline drops and taking allergy medicine prior.

  1. I am a mouth breather and I told my physician that when he decided on thr airfit n30 mask. So I found myself opening mu mouth naturally to breath in and the air that was escaping me felt weird and gave me dry mouth. I am going to just stick with it till my follow up with my Dr. to see would a full face mask be better for me? Idk?

  2. Is the machine always on/on standby? Is there a way to fully turn it off during the day or would I just need to unplug it?

  3. The setting on my airsense is I assumed the standard 4-20cm…I want to adjust stuff but I also dont know what I would be adjusting..as I am still trying to understand like what does pressure I actually need, humidity I meed and etc. Everything is on auto. Any tips on that or should I wait for my Doctor? I know how to adjust in the clinical mode.

  4. I also found myself during the night without the mask and was only able to sleep 5 hours with the mask apparantly…I do move a lot when I sleep..and I dont even remember me taking it off lol. Any tips here?

I am sorry if I sound very much of a newbie and I feel like they just gave me this machine and mask didnt explain the fully what I should be expecting or encoutering etc.

What does a Senior Typist Clerk for emergency appt actually do?

I am coming up to my one year with the LA County in July- yay! Time really flew by and theres so much that I am getting used to and learning…so I might not know all the depts, sections, & etc as I never worked for the county prior to this.

I am currently a int. clerk, I already passed my typing test in Nov of last year and still waiting to be moved up to a Int. Typist Clerk..

I assumed its taking awhile bc of the “hiring freeze.” I waiting for that to open so I can make a little more money.

A friend of mine sugguested I try applying for a Senior Typist Clerk for emergency appt but is that even possible for me to make that jump? Is it heavy on public facing?

What does the work actually entail? It also doesnt specify where the workplace would be. I don’t want to commute so far because I already commute to the office 22 miles each way so 44 miles in total everyday.

So I want to move up little by little so I can make more money little by little.

Any insight and advice would be super appreciated!
