Hello

I recently moved to a new apartment in Minnesota. There are 8 units in this entrance, though the building has a 2nd entrance that I assume also has 8 units. It is one connected building though.

There is only one entrance/exit accessible for me (and the other 7 units) without a key. Ill call this the main entrance. There is a second entrance through the laundry room but the laundry room requires a key to enter if you are already inside.

I believe for multi unit buildings youre supposed to require 2 keyless exits in case of a fire but im not sure.

Theres also a 2nd issue occurring right now that makes this more troublesome. The main entrance was unusable yesterday. They gave us notice and I didnt see it as an issue (though it is what made me consider fire code in the first place) but it was supposed to be available today.

The reason it was unusable yesterday is there was a company out replacing the sidewalk. We were told we'd be able to use it today, and all of the yellow tape around the sidewalk has been removed however, we are unable to use it because when you attempt to open the door, the concrete blocks it.

I've reached out to the company I rent from but havent heard back. Im technically renting a condo from an owner so there is a condo association but I am not aware of the head of it so im relying on my rental company.

I do know one of my neighbors was reaching out to everyone he could about it.
