What are your FAVORITE brand gauze pads to wear with a seton?

Seton placement surgery scheduled. I currently love wearing nice extra-cushiony gauze in the cheeks for my drainage. I see lots of recommendations to use non-woven gauze with setons.

Why avoid seeds and nuts with a seton?

Question is exactly as posted in title. Just see a lot of people mention avoiding both seeds and nuts with one in place. Curious the experiences that lead to this advice.

Is feeling so awful normal?

The background: Had an I&D for a perirectal abscess 6 weeks ago. All drainage stopped about week 3, pain and swelling returned, and then drainage started again with a vengeance about a week and a half ago out of the surgical site. Quite a bit of continuous drainage daily since.

Fistula is suspected, but not yet confirmed. White blood cell counts are normal, no systemic infections, never get temps, CT scan shows mild improvement in the area and no drainable fluids. Have a follow up with doc soon to talk about next steps.

My question for the experienced: is feeling incredibly awful both constantly and in waves normal when going through periods like this?

I’m otherwise young-ish and healthy, I’ve been eating the cleanest I have ever eaten in my life. I’ve been through a lot of physical/surgical trauma, but nothing has left me so continuously depleted. I do have some good days, but devoid of energy on most days. Sometimes I get waves of just feeling achy all over. I’ve been taking some sick days because the fatigue feels so heavy at times.

It’s hard to not feel like it’s in my head. But at times it feels just impossible to push through. Definitely a struggle to get my sh*t together these days.

Common? Not so common?
