Question about the Norwegian method

I’ve been reading Marius Bakkens new book on running and the Norwegian method. My understanding when it comes to doble threshold days is as follows:

Two threshold sessions on the same day allows for more high intensity volume in addition to more volume over all. The idea is to treat the two sessions more like one long session rather than two separate sessions. This way each session function like an interval set and the prolonged break functions like the rest/recovery between sets.
Structuring it this way also allow to adjust the second session to feel. If the first session strained your body more than expected, you can just ease up a little on the afternoon session.

This way you can end up with Tuesdays and Thursdays as hard days, while still allowing for higher volume on threshold effort. An important caveat is that you would run slightly below actual threshold, and not try to push it all the way up to that point. It is this slightly easier effort that makes it possible to add all this quality volume without overdoing it.

This is obviously for more advanced runners, and you should already be running quite a lot. But my question is. If you’re getting into threshold training and want to improve your fitness, is it better to add one double threshold day and rest of the week easy, or is it better to implement two days with single threshold sessions?
