I'm having the muscle repair/tummytuck surgery

Hi friends. I wrote here several months ago about feeling disheartened over my body's inability to heal from my 3 to 4 finger gap. It has caused back pain and made my pelvic floor even weaker. So, I'm doing it... on Wednesday, actually. My surgery will be performed by a plastic surgeon because I live in canada and my gap isn't wide enough for it to be considered a medically necessary surgery. He said he uses sutures to reconnect the muscle tissue.

I used to workout every day. Yoga and running and weightlifting. I was very athletic. I haven't been able to do almost any of it with the DR.

I would love to hear from people about when they were able to get back into workouts after their surgery. Especially people who had the sutures done.

The tummytuck sub kind of scared me. Ngl. I guess I'm looking for some reassurance. 🙏

Looking into a tummy tuck to repair diastis recti in Montreal

Hi friends! I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations and/or success stories of getting a tummy tuck to repair diastasis recti in Montreal. Is there anyone you recommend? It's there anyone you emphatically don't recommend?

Well, I guess I need to look at surgery

I had an appointment with my physio today. She said that while I'm getting stronger, my gap reduction has stopped at 3 fingers. It's above and at my navel. My lower abs are fully closed. It's also more on the right side than the left. I'm at 7 months pp, and she feels that it's unlikely I'll be able to close it further through exercises.

Before I had my second baby (c-section and abput 9 lbs), I was very athletic. I ran several times per week, I lifted heavy at least 3 days a week and I did intermediate to advanced level vinyasa yoga almost every day. Exercise is how I control my anxiety so it's very important to me.

With the structural issues caused by a 3 cm gap, i really can't run or do yoga without heavy modifications, my mid back has pain now because my mid and upper core can't fully support me so a lot is going on in my back, and, honestly, I hate the way my stomach looks. It's always been flat. Abs now it bulges, which drives me crazy.

I have 2.5 pounds to lose until I'm back to my pre baby weight, but my belly looks so big right now. And I'm super frustrated because I only gained 25 lbs during this pregnancy and I did diastasis recti prevention exercises and continued to be super active.

So, after all of that ranting, I guess, I'm just hoping to hear from others who've had a TT to repair the DR. I'm in Quebec, and a far as I can tell, the only dr repair I can get is from a plastic surgeon for a TT. What was the healing like? How long did it take for you to be able to start doing any exercise after? Are you happier after? Was it worth it?

Stubborn Diastasis Recti

I'm not sure if this is the best place for this post, but it's my first reddit post ever lol so here it goes.

I had my second son via emergency c-section just about 6 months ago. I maintained a healthy weight during pregnancy and continued to exercise, but my belly got ridiculously big (I looked like I was having twins) because of spontaneous polyhydramnios. After the 6 week pp appointment, I was cleared for exercise and I started working with a physiotherapist for pelvic floor stuff. Well, I have a 3.5 finger gap at and above my navel. I have been doing the exercises and breath work and everything daily and I still have the same gap. My tensile strength has gotten better for sure, but the gap has not changed.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? I'm really trying to hold it hope and fix this through exercise and not surgery if at all possible.

I am just wondering about other moms' experiences.

TIA!
