I’ve read that foreigners can buy tickets on site for many attractions. Is that true?

I’m mainly thinking about the Forbidden City, Great Wall, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square, etc.

Has anyone been there recently? What should I definitely book in advance and what can I just buy there?

Hi! I’ll be in Beijing from 22.08-26.08.26. The weather currently looks best on Sunday, so I’m thinking about visiting the Great Wall that day.
Has anyone been there on a Sunday in late August? Is it extremely crowded, or is it okay if you go early?
I also want to visit the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, etc. on the other days.
And which weather app is the most reliable for Beijing? I’m getting very different forecasts 😅

I will be visiting Bejing in two weeks. What’s the best way to visit the Great Wall from Beijing? Is it easy to take a DiDi there and back, or should I arrange for the driver to wait? How does it usually work?

I’m traveling to China in two weeks and will be doing Beijing → Chengdu → Chongqing → Zhangjiajie → Furong Town → Shanghai.
I’m looking for a reliable eSIM that works well throughout the trip. I’ve heard that Holafly has had some issues recently, and I really don’t want to end up without internet while I’m there.
Which eSIM have you used recently in China and would recommend? I mainly need reliable data for maps, WeChat, bookings, etc. Ideally, it should also allow access to Google, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc. without a VPN.

Hi! We’re travelling from Zhangjiajie to Shanghai in September and found a direct flight to Nantong (NTG) for about half the price of flying to Pudong.
Amap shows around 2 hours by car to central Shanghai. Has anyone done this before? Would you recommend taking a DiDi directly to Shanghai or going to Nantong/Nantong West station and taking the train?
Also, is it easy to find a DiDi driver at NTG willing to drive all the way to Shanghai?
