Hair is a mess…what to do?
Hi all,
I’ve been dyeing my own hair for a while now, trying to achieve a honey blonde color. However, every time it turns out much warmer and more ginger/copper than I want. I don’t completely hate the warm tone, but my goal is definitely a soft honey blonde.
Two weeks ago I dyed it again with olia garnier 8.31, and this time it went quite wrong (first picture). My roots lifted a lot and became much lighter, while my mids stayed noticeably darker. I also have a lot of banding from previous dye jobs — about every 6 cm there’s a different shade/lift level from old grow-out.
When my hair is dry (second picture) it looks a bit less obvious, but I’m worried that once my hair grows out again, the uneven bands will become very noticeable.
The third picture is the color I would ideally like to achieve: a natural-looking honey blonde with warmth, but not orange/ginger.
My questions are:
Is it possible to fix the banding and uneven color?
Would this require bleach/color correction, or could it be toned?
What toner or products would you recommend to achieve a honey blonde instead of a copper/ginger result?
Any advice would be really appreciated!
