Unsure of my career path because it seems like there's not much scope in my previous plans with the path I chose. Help?

I 25F, am a Journalism graduate, with 3 yrs work ex. I wanted to get into the international communication/related fields - civil servant or MNC.

Here are the options in debating (and related drawbacks):

  • Full time MA International Relations/security/diplomacy (no little to no financial backing even with savings and no current job)
  • Full time job, part time MA (afraid it might get too hectic, but is the degree worth it?)
  • Full time job, part time distance certifications in the same field (usually 10-16 weeks) (seems financially viable but is a degree better?)

Working on any of the options is not an issue - what's best is required. I can get access to loans, work my way around hectic schedules - I just want to know which should I work for, what is my best option career opportunity wise - most economical tbh.

Any suggestions are welcome and logical advice is appreciated. Thank you :)

how important is as master degree in today's professional world?

i see everyone talking about how getting a masters feels like a natural step after UG. I finished my UG 4 years ago, and after 3 years of a job where i was immobile, and 1 year of a career break, i'm confused as to what is next for me. should i bite the bullet, invest time, money & energy & get a masters? is there any benefit to it, or will i just be wasting my resources? or should i play it 'risky' and keep looking for jobs and continue side courses, certificates, upskilling?
