Still trying to find this rattle, can anyone help?
I started noticing this rattle about a month after I bought the car. It starts around 75 km/h and seems to be linked to the wind (if I’m driving into the wind it will start at a lower speed and stop if I turn with the wind).
It sounds like it’s coming from behind the dash and is equally loud on both sides of the car. I am assuming it’s coming from the engine compartment, but don’t know for sure. Video included, ignore my dirty floor mats.
I have tried the following:
Empty the glove box
Remove the lid and hinges from the frunk
Remove the snap away pieces from the frunk
Tighten the bolts on the plastic pieces under the hood
Put foam on the license plate holder
Put foam on the inner part of the hood struts
With the hood open and the car stopped, the closest I’ve come to recreating the sound is jiggling the hood pistons that hold the hood up when you open it. But it sounds like it’s coming from lower.
If anyone has any ideas, I’d love to hear them. I will bring it back to the dealer if I can’t solve it myself, it’s just an hour away and a pain to make it happen.
