Fence dispute
Typical city fence fight. My neighbor got the fence built 3.5 years ago around the time I moved in. (New build) I agreed to pay my half. The time came I sent a etranfer to who she told me to (the company’s guys personal email, I thought was odd but did as I was asked) she came back saying I didn’t pay, I showed her the confirmation, they said didn’t get it blah blah. Then she came at me telling me to pay the full price of the entire fence and I told her to get lost.
Flash forward to yesterday, I am finishing my side of the fence just enclosing my yard now that I have built garage. My neighbor came out screaming at the contractors, taking pictures of them/licence plates, threatening to call the cops if they drilled into the SHARED fence post to create my gate.
I called her and their is no reasoning with her, despite showing her the confirmation she said she had to pay the whole price
Basically can she do this if the fence post is on the property line? It’s it legally half mine?
The contractor is worried obviously, doesn’t want to piss anyone off. Can I drill into the fence post to make my gate or do I have to dig another hole and make my gate smaller and increased cost?
I really didn’t see the issue but in hindsight should have checked before giving the contractor the ok.
