Is this mold? Every winter our ceilings and down our exterior (one side is outside) walls we get these Gray/dark Gray blotches that get progressively worse. For 2 years we've had people come in to clean with bleach but next winter it's back.

This is a rental (Cape Town, South Africa) and I asked the agent. She said we must keep the house well ventilated but we already do.

Another thing I think of is important. We're in a very leafy neighborhood close to the coast and when we sweep our wooden floors there's always a pile of dust.

Everyone who's looked says it's mold but I'm not sure given the evidence I shared.
