Reppin in the US

Its honestly baffling to me that it’s such an obscure genre in the US.

EDIT: I don't wanna get sued by Bass Pro, so I'm giving you info on how to get one of these hats without getting me in trouble haha (I give you the art and you can have the hat made for yourself). DM me!

My pocket-sized gong fu kit

I put it together over a couple of months, and the celadon gaiwan has been with me for years. A full bamboo tea tray wouldn’t really fit my small table, and it seemed like it would mold in our wet climate, but i found a ceramic tray that works well which has a drainage spout! Also, 99% of the time I’m only serving tea for myself so a bigger setup doesn’t make as much sense.

I’m Japanese and usually drink senchas, but I got super into oolongs recently and I’m fascinated by Chinese tea traditions and how different they are from Japanese ones (and similar in many aspects too).

Also a question: I received the super tiny 80ml yixing tea pot for my birthday and it’s cute and lovely, but because it’s so small it’s difficult to get the leaves to unfurl fully and not clog it up. Should I break up the leaves or just use less per steeping?

Training tips, classes recommendations?

Hello!

I got my Cpl recently after having some unnerving experiences while out and about by myself and feeling vulnerable only having pepper spray on hand.

I’m not a complete newbie in that I’ve shot rifle and shotgun recreationally/hunting and target shooting, but the thought of having a gun on me at all times is still a bit new and strange. I’m taking a women’s introduction to handgun class soon (they have a part 2 which is about basic drawing from holster and movement exercises too)…but after that, besides going to the range to shoot regularly, I’m not sure how to proceed.

I’m in the PNW, and more advanced home defense type classes seem a bit harder to come by. I wish there were more of those types of classes offered only to women/had smaller class sizes!

If anyone has any class recommendations, please let me know!

Also, upon shooting a variety of handguns I of course fell in love with a bulky one — M&P 5.7 — but it was probably the first one I actually felt comfortable handling. I would like to get a more compact 9mm eventually to practice with because everyone says its the gold standard of carry calibers. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But for the time being I love shooting my current one!
