I started using NotebookLM for something way simpler than research
I uploaded a bunch of old notes, screenshots, and random PDFs that I had saved but never really looked at again.
What surprised me was how useful it was for finding connections between things I had completely forgotten about. Instead of reading everything again, I could just ask questions and let it point me to the relevant parts.
One thing that helped a lot: give the notebook a specific job. Instead of asking “summarize this,” I asked things like “What are the main things I should pay attention to?” and “Which notes contradict each other?”
It made the whole thing feel way less overwhelming.

I stopped asking NotebookLM to summarize everything
I used to just throw my notes into NotebookLM and ask for a summary. Lately, I’ve been asking more specific stuff like: Where do these sources disagree? or
What claims are only supported by one source?
The answers have been way more useful than a basic summary. Anyone else have a simple NotebookLM trick that actually works?

But the thing is, models are best tuned for their in-house harness so there’s always gonna be lag for aggregators.

Facial reconstruction of 3 men during World War 1
These soldiers are called “les gueules cassées” and it kinda translates to the broken faces/the broken faced. The war served as a fast track platform for maxillofacial surgery as they were forced to do it on countless soldiers and surgeons made great advancements in techniques at the time
