Easier to install from PPCPorts (shigoku).
For cover art a reasonably modern terminal is needed. Of what we got on powerpc: contour, mlterm, bobcat, foot, sakura. On modern macOS also kitty, iterm2.
It actually plays a 1080p VP9 now. With a bit of lagging with default settings, but better than I expected from a G4. (AV1 at 4k is not playable, I checked out of curiosity. Miracles don’t happen. But on G5 that kinda works.)
gpu-next confirmed to work on the ATI (all previous testing was on Nvidia on G5).
AltiVec added to ffmpeg is doing well.
Installable from PowerPC Ports as mpv-devel at the moment. (I haven’t switched regular mpv to Cocoa GUI yet.)
I got V8 and NodeJS working on PowerPC.
Not the latest versions, at least yet: v8 8.x and 9.x, nodejs12 and upcoming nodejs16. Basic tests pass, npm works.
Installable from PPCPorts, as usual. (9.x did not land yet, others are available.) Disclaimer: tested only on 10.6 at the moment.

Needs the latest updates for libplacebo and libass (just run port sync, and you get them).
