Puffy eyes

Puffy eyes

My three toed has had some mild puffy eyes, and I’m really worried :/ .. I could use any advice please!

I dechlorinate my hose water with API, he eats nightcrawlers and super worms sprinkled with the reptivite vitamin, and his substrate is organic topsoil.

The only thing I’m worried about is I should have gone with coconut coir instead of the topsoil, maybe the wood chips are bad? He had coco fiber when he was living inside but it was too expensive to fill his 8x4 enclosure. Here is a pic for reference.

Mom choosing to deteriorate

Hey yall, I’m sorry to be so negative but I feel so alone and powerless as my mom’s caregiver.

My mom (56) broke her femur 8 months ago and is not able to walk without assistance. I (21) am encouraging her to eat better and practice walking more often; She currently eats out every day, the healthiest thing she eats is Taco Bell or Pollo Loco…. The rest of the time it’s greasy foods.

She is overweight and has little to no muscle in her ankles. Seeing her lose her strength and choose to not practice her arm and leg exercises more than 4 times a week for 5 minutes each… it’s not sufficient to recover her mobility though.

I feel like I’m not doing enough, but I also don’t know what to do anymore. I know I’m an adult and I do have experience, I’ve been taking care of her since I was 16. But watching her not even be able to pull herself out of bed is disheartening.

She is also emotionally unwell, which is sorta expected. She lost all of her mobility when she broke her femur but it’s like she just doesn’t care enough to work for it. I reached the point of angry venting on here; she seriously couldn’t open her can of coke and asked me to.

I do realize I am an enabler when it comes to her weight. She asks for fast food, I get it. We’ve gotten into a lot of heated arguments about her diet. I cant force her to do anything at the end of the day, though.

If you made it this far, thank you for reading. I just feel so frustrated and suffocated. I hope the rest of you are doing better.
