Escalating Warranty w Safelite?
I read from many posts that the Safelite warranty was basically boof. I just had my windshield replaced 3 weeks ago. 2 weeks later I used my wipers for the first time and the driver’s side wasn’t put on correctly so it flew off while I was on the highway. The hard metal part cracked my windshield again. I scheduled a warranty appointment and they refused to give me the warranty. They said I must have done it myself while I was trying to put a wiper back on. The way they were speaking to me was clear there was no point in me even trying with them because they just believed I was lying.
I wonder if it’s possible to escalate my claim? I am so surprised that there would be this much push back when all that happened was the wiper flying off due to not being securely on. I would think there would be more apologies even given that it was so unsafe for that to happen to me on the highway. I’m feeling really defeated and wondering if anyone has advice. I spent $500 because I didn’t want to live with a crack on my window and now I have a new one that is a reminder of something even worse and more frustrating.
