Newbie question about 2” Extender
when I screwed on my 2” extender to the focuser it made an awful metal-on-metal sound as I was screwing it in. Is this normal or does something need to be applied?

Eyepiece in urban B7-8 recommendation
I live in an urban area and most of my viewing is in my backyard due to convenience. it’s seldom I get to go to a dark site. With that said, the sky glow is horrendous and Im looking for something to cut down on it + view brighter objects like planets.
right now I have in my cart a sky glow/moon filter and a Baader classic ortho 6mm. Before I pulled the trigger I wanted to ask the general consensus on these items or if there were better recommendations out there. using 8” dob (pic for fun)

New Telescope Post
I was able to get a sweet deal on an 8” dob. Finding it in red was a nice little touch. When it arrived I looked at the forecast and it’s clouds/rain for the next week 😅. Ive been using an 80mm f6 apo for about a year and it’s been great. But I did manage to get a short look at the Mizar system with this and WOW. I really didn’t know what I was missing with the added aperture.
