8 days post - pain in vulva nobody warned me about?

Hi all

I had a laparoscopic total hysterectomy with saplingectomy on Friday last week 19th. I requested the catheter be removed before I woke up (with agreement that was subject to surgeons evaluation of how the surgery went)

All very straightforward in surgery, uterus (visible adenomyosis, no endo, as expected) was yeeted.

I woke from anaesthesia in acute pain and despite them working hard to keep putting more painkillers into me, that pain took a very long time to come under control (about 2-3 hours I think? Time keeping was not priority for me). The pain then was focused in my vulva, especially around my urethra and clitoris.

It took a good few attempts to be able to pee and initially I produced a very small amount which they were all concerned about, but by 11pm that night (out of surgery at 3pm) I was able to empty my bladder and multiple bladder scans all night suggested that continued to be the case every time I peed.

The pain in my vulva/clitoris isn't going away. I am finding it takes a lot of thought to work out how to release my wee when I do go to pee and I don't manage to evacuate in one single stream as I always have done before in my life.

I managed to pass gas on day 2 and poo on day 4 but doing both of those things feels really difficult still - in the same way - like I can't find the thing inside me to 'release' to let go.

I have a heaviness in my vagina and a constant soreness in my vulva which resolves into acute pain a couple times a day at no predictable interval

What's wrong with me?

Tl:Dr my vulva hurts, it hurt from the moment I woke up from surgery and I'm afraid something is broken because I can't find mention of it on the "expected" pain run downs on my sheet from hospital or NHS articles on the surgery. Why?
