Interview Advice

context: finished 1L top 10% at CLS, on law review. but, struck out during regular recruiting cycle despite 9 CBs.

have a few interviews coming up and i of course really don’t want to screw them up as well.

ive done a few mock interviews with my schools career office. the feedback i’ve gotten from firms that rejected me was that there was a lack of confidence/enthusiasm.

anyone have any advice? what are some major and common errors candidates make? what are some things i should focus in on?

any advice would be greatly appreciated. like i said, i really dont wanna mess up this opportunity again. thanks in advance for any help!

What does Susman look for when hiring SAs?

i know they’re insanely competitive, but historically what rank/school mix do they look for? what is needed to be competitive at a T6? and do we think that it might be marginally less competitive this cycle? (since i imagine anyone who would be competitive for susman already has a BL offer in hand)

ofc i understand there is no definitive answer(s) but any advice/insight would be appreciated!

Litigation Boutiques: Wait Until Law Review Decisions?

i think i might have a chance at some litigation boutiques (im top 10% at CLS) but i haven’t yet applied because im pretty certain law review/secondary journal decisions will be out this upcoming week (they told us late june).

should i wait until law review/journal decisions to apply? or just apply now? of course, im not assuming ill get onto law review, but i think i have a good shot nonetheless. at any rate, i do think ill make it onto a journal

thanks in advance for any advice!

What GPA (approximately) is needed to be top 10% on a B+ curve?

more specific info on the curve:

A: 6-11%
A-: 13-19%
B+: 30-40%
B: 30-45%

(this is the CLS curve)

2027 2L SA Strikeout Paths

finished roughly top 10-15% at CLS after 1L, struck out BL recruiting.

i know BL is now almost certainly over for me so does anyone have any advice regarding other career paths i can take (that might potentially lead into BL down the line)?

i’m interested in litigation and am hoping to clerk post grad. what can i do my 2L summer? are there smaller/mid-size firms still hiring? if so, where can i find them?

thanks in advance for any help!
