The best marketing plan for the UFL would be for Mike Repole to say “You know what, I messed up,” bring the Stallions back, and commit to keeping them in the Ham for as long as the UFL lasts. Pledge to put the same effort into Birmingham that he is St. Louis. Pledge to spend the same amount of money on improving Protective that he claims he would on a little soccer stadium. Accept that if he wants communities to commit to the league, he has to commit to the communities. Be a mensch. A person of integrity and honor. We have far too few of those in this country right now. All the money in the world couldn’t buy the respect and loyalty that would generate.

Yeah I know it’s a fantasy.

Some people can say Birmingham doesn't deserve to keep the team and maybe they're right, I don't know. But I've been a Birmingham Stallions fan since I was a kid in 1983, listened to the first game against the Michigan Panthers on the radio, and was thrilled to have them back in 2022. I wanted the league to succeed, but with the Stallions gone, I have no rooting interest, and thus no interest.

As soon as I started hearing Repole's comments last year, I knew deep down the Stallions were toast. It was basically a rinky-dink repeat of Stan Kroenke's lying regarding the St. Louis Rams until he moved them out as he always intended to do. I don't know if Repole hired AJ because he knew he was a clown and a fool but boy it sure paid off for him, didn't it?

But let me also call out Birmingham and metro leadership who, no matter the people or party, have consistently failed the community since the 1950s, making Birmingham ever more smaller potatoes. Did you know the Patriots almost moved to Birmingham? Seems like a joke now. The whole thing is a bad joke.

So sayonara. I won't be paying the slightest bit of attention to the league, which believe me, will be extremely easy to do. You can say don't let the door hit me in the ass on the way out, whatever you want. It won't matter.

I suppose everything could break the Stallions’ way and they could squeak into the playoffs, but I seriously doubt it. They had a few bright spots this season but this season is defined by inconsistency and poor coaching. I have zero faith in this coaching staff. They laid such a huge egg in front of 18,000 and may have cost Birmingham a team, because honestly who wants to watch football that putrid. McCarron and his buddies reduced what was once the class the class of the league to an excruciating clown show.
