Made a baking clay model of the Titanic!

Hey y’all! This is a fun little project I’ve made over the past few days, and while it was a hurdle to make, it was very fun to do in the end. Titanic and her removable base were created with baking clay, while other materials like string, wooden toothpicks, and cotton were included in here to further give the ship and her surrounding base more details. A lot of stuff had to be sacrificed for detail with her just being ~5-6 inches in length here, but I’m very proud of what was able to be included here. She also had a near disaster during baking, as Titanic being top heavy in this model caused her to list over completely on her starboard side and nearly get fried to a crisp within 15 minutes, but thankfully she survived! The base was fun to do as well and much less riskier to bake. This little project of mine is a culmination of learning more about the Titanic since last fall, and it’s been a fun journey to do this and other digital art pieces along the way. With this, hope to be sharing more here soon!

(Also, the final 5th image is to show Titanic as a removable piece, since the ship’s lower red hull and her 3 propellers were also sculpted in! Titanic’s name plating is also colored white in that image instead of yellow as she was undergoing final adjustments during the time that she was being made. A little blob of clay was further added underneath her at the time since she can’t stay stationary upright on her own.)
