Second year, still no accommodation
It’s my second year at Aligarh Muslim University, and although I have been allotted MM Hall, I haven’t even been allotted Annexe yet. Despite trying my best to find some sort of accommodation, I have had no luck so far.
I came to Aligarh on 9 August, and even after all these days, I still don’t have a place to stay. I thought, okay, let’s leave everything aside and find a PG or a room somewhere near the campus. But surprisingly, almost every PG and room is already booked. There is simply no space available.
Right now, I’m literally wandering from one place to another, trying to figure out where I can stay and even where I can sleep. Because of this, I’m not even able to attend my classes properly.
And honestly, I don’t even know who is responsible for this situation. If the university is already aware of the accommodation crisis, why are so many admissions being taken without ensuring that students have proper accommodation? At the very least, the existing waiting lists should be cleared first and students should be provided accommodation before bringing in more admissions.
I genuinely don’t know what else to say at this point. I just want a place to stay so that I can attend my classes and continue my studies peacefully.
