Spots behind ferret’s ears?

Hi again! I got some good tips here the other day so I have another question. I’ve noticed these specs behind my ferret’s ears - I don’t think it’s mite related, but I’m not sure what they could be and Google has been no help. She is 5 years old and has insulinoma. Any thoughts?

How can I protect my ferret from essential oils? I need them for work and am not sure what to do! (Semi long post)

Hi! I have a 5 year old ferret named Twoey and her health is my absolute top priority. I recently started working as a swim instructor and spend upwards of 20 hours in a chlorine pool every week. To protect my hair from damage, it’s been strongly recommended that I use a blend of jojoba, rosemary, and peppermint oils on my hair to help. I haven’t really heard of any other solutions, so I think I need to start doing that. Does anyone have thoughts on how I could manage using the products and keeping them far far away from my fuzzball? Of course, I will absolutely not use them if there’s no safe way to. Thank you!

EDIT: the oil is used after being in the pool!
