Kal arrives at the last second when the high princes and Amaram are defending Dalinar, and as Szeth is about to kill Meridas, Kal understands that he must protect even those he hates, and his third ideal is realized. Books goes on the same way from there, Sadeas is killed, Amaram goes down with the thrill later yada yada yada
